LANCAPI
LANCAPI from LANCOM Systems is a specialized version of the widespread ISDN CAPI interface. It is available free of charge for all LANCOM routers with an ISDN interface. The chief benefit from using LANCAPI is financial. LANCAPI provides all of the Windows workstations in a LAN with unlimited access to ISDN office-communication functions such as fax, answering machine, online banking, and Eurofile transfer. Without any additional hardware, every workstation can make use of the full range of ISDN functions provided via the network. This completely dispenses with the need to equip workstations with expensive equipment such as ISDN adapters or modems. The sole requirement is to install the office-communication software on each workstation.
There are a number of ways of using LANCAPI:
Fax to all PCs in LAN
You can use the LANCOM CAPI Fax Modem which provides you with a fax driver (Fax Class 1) under Windows. The driver acts as an interface between the LANCAPI client and the fax application on the PC, so enabling a LANCOM to be combined with standard fax software. The LANCOM CAPI Fax Modem emulates the modem function and fax protocols in the PC software. This requires sufficient computing power (min. 500-MHz Pentium).

Remote configuration
You can use a program that is based on a CAPI interface (such as LANCAPI). Once installed, this software searches for the CAPI and subsequently makes use of this automatically. Within the configuration of a remote access service you can choose what communication device installed you want to use. For LANCAPI choose the entray “ISDN WAN Line 1”. A good example would be the remote configuration of another LANCOM device via ISDN.
