Profile

Traditionally, both hardware and software for all LANCOM routers are developed and tested in Germany. In the process, customer feedback plays a key role in the creation and design of new products, just as the specific demands of the German and European markets do.
Like the LCOS operating system, LANtools are also developed directly by LANCOM and ensure a high level of user friendliness – for everyone. This assures all of our customers that any modifications made to meet new standards will be integrated quickly and reliably and provided to all users through our free update service.
We offer our customers more and help them design their business processes more flexibly and efficiently with significant savings in time and cost at the same time.
Business Areas
Network Connectivity. LANCOM products facilitate the professional networking of enterprises, subsidiaries and home offices while meeting the highest demands on quality, availability and security.
With fully integrated solutions offering uniform network management, LANCOM supplies all necessary components from a single source: High-performance VPN routers, VPN central-site gateways, switches, a variety of clients, and options including safe web-content filtering. LANCOM technology interconnects sites and integrates mobile users over wireline, WLAN or UMTS (HSxPA) connections, all secured by VPN based on the high-security IPsec standard.
Routers, gateways and switches from LANCOM are a highly effective basis for operating multiple simultaneous data and communications services that include real-time applications such as Internet telephony (VoIP) – with reliability, security and cost-effectiveness. LANCOM's proprietary virtualization solution ARF provides flexible network virtualization beyond the LAN and across the WAN.
Wireless LAN. LANCOM offers an extensive range of wireless networking solutions: From conventional indoor WLAN access points to the highly robust models for industrial and outdoor applications and also specialized hotspot solutions for Internet guest access accounts. High-performance wireless LAN controllers provide efficiency in WLAN management and they enforce the highest standards of security.
WLAN solutions from LANCOM are based on the very latest WLAN standards to provide maximum security (WPA2, 802.1x, RADIUS authentication), speed (802.11n with 300 Mbps), reliability, and availability. This makes them ideally suited for run-time critical real-time applications such as Voice over WLAN and for establishing complex multi-service wireless LANs in virtualized environments.
Furthermore, LANCOM outdoor access points have become established as economical alternatives for the fast provision of broadband to rural areas (WLAN bridge links & wireless distribution systems).
